Verona's Archaeological Museum was founded in 1923. The former 15th-century monastery makes an interesting backdrop for the museum's displays of finds from the area around the Teatro Romano. These include everything from mosaics and glass to domestic objects and sculptures.
Open hours: Tuesday to Sunday - 08:30 to 19:30, Monday - 13:30 to 19:30
Admission: charge, free entry on first Sunday of the month

Museo Civico di Storia Naturale

The splendid surroundings of a 16th-century palace - in this case, the Lavezzola Pompei Palace - show off Verona's natural history exhibits to their best. Included in the museum's collection are finds from a number of Italian regions, as well as plant and animal fossils from the Lessinian Mountains.

Museum of Affreschi

The site of Juliet's 'tomb' is located within this museum. It's easy to forget that Juliet was, indeed, a literary creation rather than a real-life historical figure. The Museum of Affreschi itself is housed within the San Francesco al Corso Convent.
