Verona Hotels and Accommodation

(Verona, Veneto, Italy)

City pictureVerona offers a wide range of accommodation to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. As well as modern hotels which provide fairly standard rooms and facilities, it's possible to find lodging that won't disappoint when it comes to character and atmosphere. Bed and breakfast accommodation allows visitors to enjoy Verona's typical hospitality at reasonable prices.

During busy periods of the year, particularly in the summer when both holiday-makers and opera-lovers arrive in Verona in their droves, suitable accommodation and available hotels may be harder to find. If you haven't booked in advance, the city's very own Cooperative Albergatori Veronesi (CAV) in Via Puzzi offers a useful room-finding service.

Where to Stay

Verona's top-of-the-range hotels offer everything you'd expect from a city that is proud of its rich heritage, including marble columns and chandeliers, as well as some rather opulent furnishings. The Albergo Due Torri on Piazza Sant Anastasia is particularly notable, with former guests including Mozart, Garibaldi and Goethe.

A large number of the mid-range hotels in Verona can be found around Piazza Brà, although the area around Corso Porta Nouva is also popular and is conveniently located for Verona's train station. Much of this accommodation offers good-sized rooms, although if you fancy a room with a view - or indeed, a balcony - it's worth checking well in advance whether your chosen hotel offers these.

Many hotels, particularly those located within older buildings, do not have lifts to access all floors.

Budget accommodation, including hostels and campsites, is available if you don't mind staying outside of the city centre. Hostels usually operate an evening curfew which, if you're planning to attend any late-night concerts, may cause some inconvenience.
